Can I add my spouse or employees to my policy?
No, this is an individual policy and each practitioner must have his or her own policy.
Why can't I put this policy in my business name?
Since this is an individual liability policy it must be in the practitioner's name. As a sole proprietor your business name is also covered. If you have a corporation or partnership your business may be added as an additional insured.
Why does my credit card statement show a charge from Hands-On Trade Association?
If you purchased your policy with a credit card or debit card your statement will show a charge from Hands-On Trade Association.
What does this policy not cover?
This policy does not cover you for the use of T-bars or for charges of sexual harassment or transmission of HIV or a STD. It does not cover invasive practices i.e. ear candling, acupuncture or colonic educators. It also does not cover herbal counseling. Please check both drop down menus at Methods Covered for a complete listing of all the covered modalities. Since this a liability policy, your equipement is not covered.
What do I do if I have a claim?
If you have a claim, please call us as soon as possible to report it. We will mail you a claim form. 800-926-8911 - Western States Insurance.
Am I covered after I have stopped practicing?
This is an occurrence-based policy. As long as your policy was in effect at the time of the incident then you are covered.
What do I do if I lose my confirmation of coverage?
Please keep your confirmation of coverage in a secure spot with your other important documents. This is your proof that you have liability coverage. If you do misplace it, just call us and we will be happy to mail you a copy free of charge.
Can I cancel my policy and get a refund?
Since you are immediately enrolled into our system and your certificate is e-mailed to you immediately, there will be NO refunds from the Hands-On Trade Protection Plan. Further, the agreement that you sign as part of the application states. "All fees paid to Hands-On Trade Association in relation to this application are non-refundable."
What is your privacy policy?
Hands-On Trade Protection Plan is highly sensitive to the privacy interests of consumers and believes that the protection of those interests is one of its most significant responsibilities. In acknowledgment of its obligations, Hands-On Trade Protection Plan has adopted the following Privacy Policy applicable to information about consumers that it acquires in the course of its business:
1. Acquisition of Information. We do not acquire any more information about consumers than is required by law or is otherwise necessary to provide a high level of service efficiently and securely.
2. Our Employees and Privacy. We train all of our employees about the importance of privacy. We give access to information about consumers only to those employees who require it to perform their jobs.
3. Security Measures. We make access to privacy-sensitive information subject to rigorous procedural and technological controls, consistent with legal requirements and the demands of customer service.
4. Disclosure to Third Parties. We will provide individually-identifiable information about consumers to third parties only if we are compelled to do so by order of a duly-empowered governmental authority, we have the express permission of the consumer, or it is necessary to process transactions and provide our services.
5. Privacy and Our Business Partners. When we make our technology or services available to business partners, we will not share with them any more consumer information than is necessary, and we will make every reasonable effort to assure, by contract or otherwise, that they use our technology and services in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.
