The Renewal Process Steps
*Note: If you have obtained this insurance benefit through another association, you should go through that association to renew your policy.

Warning!
If you are renewing your policy and adding an additional insured at the same time, please Renew your policy first and then add the additional insured. If you add the additional insured first before you renew it will create an overcharge of $10.00 on your account.

The easiest and fastest method to renew your membership and insurance policy is to:
•Open your e-mail confirmation notice of membership and insurance
•Click on the Click here to go to HOTA account log in link
•Log in with your e-mail address and certificate number
•Click on the Submit button (This will take you to your personal information page)
•Review and change any pertinent information (Note: renewing members
must re-enter each additional insured)
•Click on the Renewal button
Following this procedure will ensure you maintain the same certificate number and automatically put in any information you don't need to manually change.

If you are having problems renewing online or would simply like to have help, please give us a call at 800-872-1282 and we will be happy to walk you through the process and make sure that your member benefits package is correctly renewed with us. It takes about five minutes. If we are unavailable, a representative will get back to you within 24 hours.

If the date you are seeking to renew your membership is past the actual expiration date, you will need to sign up as a new applicant instead of as a "renewal." There is no grace period with this plan. The system will not accept you as a renewal if you are trying to renew the policy after the expiration date.

No Mail-In or Faxed Renewals
The insurance company that provides this insurance as a benefit to our members is fully electronic. They will no longer accept mail-in or faxed renewal notices. They've informed us that there are no exceptions to this procedure. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but this is one of the measures instituted to keep administrative costs down and your member benefits affordable while increasing service. 

Important Points when Renewing:

E-MAIL ADDRESS: Your e-mail is our primary point of contact with you. All correspondence relating to your membership is directed to that address. It is therefore VERY IMPORTANT to provide a correct e-mail address and to maintain that address while you are a member.

All membership benefits: which include your certificate of insurance, certificate of membership in the Hands-On-Trade Association and a copy of the insurance policy, along with links to your administrative page and the information to set up your own web site are sent to the e-mail address you provide. Nothing is sent to you via regular mail. That subject of the e-mail will be applications@handsontrade.com. If you don't receive it, please check your Junk, Spam, or Bulk folders. 

If you have additional insured: already on your policy and you are renewing your policy, then you must re-enter their information on the renewal application if you want them to continue to be covered. Otherwise, even though you fill out a renewal for yourself, the additional insured will not be covered. Remember, there is a $10.00 charge for each additional insured. (The definition of "additional insured" is a landlord or a place of business where you may be working, but it cannot be another practitioner. Each practitioner must carry his or her own insurance policy.)

Important: The way you enter the information on the application at the web site is exactly the way it will be printed on your membership and certificate of insurance. If format, capitalization and spelling are important to you, be sure you enter your information in the web site the way you want to see it on the certificates.
