Cosmetologist Insurance

The Hands on Trade Association provides cosmetology insurance as a benefit to our members including professional and general liability insurance for cosmetologists and students of cosmetology.

We provide benefits including insurance for you if you are a makeup artist, hair stylists, beautician, barber, esthetician, nail technician as well as others who perform cosmetology services.

Definition:
Cosmetology is the treatment of skin, hair and nails and includes, but is not limited to, manicures, pedicures, applications of artificial nails, makeup, special occasion hairstyling, wet and thermal styling, shampooing hair, cosmetic application, body hair removal, chemical hair relaxers or straighteners, permanent waves, coloring and highlighting of hair, and hair extensions or wig treatments.

A person who is licensed in cosmetology is sometimes called a beautician, a beauty specialist, esthetician or aesthetician. A general cosmetologist is proficient in all forms of beauty care or may specialize in hair treatments, facials, skin treatments, and nail treatments. .
